Real wedding: Abby + Luke’s wedding film
Some weddings stay with you. Abby and Luke’s is one of them. It was filmed by Sam, back when he was shooting as The Camera Guys, with Bruno alongside him as second camera. Here’s a look back at their film, and what Abby had to say about the day.
Getting to know each other first
Like most of our couples, Abby and Luke started with a video call. It’s the part of the process people often skip in their heads, but it matters. By the time the wedding came round, we knew what they cared about, who the important people were, and what kind of film they were hoping for. They knew who would be turning up with a camera.
From our initial zoom meeting, to the completion of our full wedding video, Sam’s communication was great and he always made sure we had all of the information we needed.

A whole day, from getting ready to the dance floor
With two camera operators, the film follows the whole day: the nerves and laughter of getting ready, the ceremony, the speeches, and the dancing late into the evening. Two of us meant we could be in two places at once, and capture both a moment and the reaction to it.
The approach was the same as it is today: stay in the background, let the day happen, and film what’s real. Very little was set up. Most of what you see in the film is simply what happened.
Our guests commented on how lovely they both were, and how they just seemed to disappear into the background in order to get all of the gorgeous candid shots that they did.

A teaser first, then the full film
A quick teaser gives couples something to watch and share while the day is still fresh. The full highlights film follows later, built carefully around the best moments and the best audio: the vows, the speeches, the music and the reactions.
What we love most about Abby’s review is this line, because it’s exactly what we hope for with every film:
Every time we watch it, it’s like we discover a new detail moment that was captured.

What this wedding shows about how we work
- Talk first. A call before the wedding means no strangers on the day.
- Two camera operators for bigger days, so nothing important is missed.
- Disappear into the background and let the day unfold naturally.
- Audio matters. The speeches and vows are often the heart of the film.
- Something quick, then something lasting. A teaser to share now, and a film to keep.
Today, as Stolen Hearts, we bring the same approach to photography, film and content creation, as one team. Have a look at our packages, or tell us about your day.
